Miley Cyrus Caught in New Racy Photo Firestorm

A new set of racy photos threaten to further tarnish Miley Cyrus' not-so picture-perfect image.

The Disney starlet, who vowed to stay away from naughty photo shoots, was photographed posing provocatively in pictures posted on Twitter by the producer of her latest film.

Producer Adam Shankman, 44, published photos of the 16-year-old starlet pouting while she straddles a chair in shorts and a tight vest. A second photo shows the smoldering starlet pressing up against the filmmaker in images he apparently took on the set of her latest film "The Last Song."

"Little photo shoot with the girl," he wrote under the first photo.

The filmmaker, who directed Disney star Zac Efron in "Hairspray" and is producing the starlet's new movie, defended the photos Monday and said there was nothing inappropriate about the risque shoot.

"Miley is a sweet angel who works tirelessly and endlessly, and is allowed to have fun in the make up room!" Adam Shankman posted on his Twitter page. "Seriously! Lighten up or no more behind the scenes pics! She's like my angel little sister."

This is not the first time the pint-sized star has gotten into hot water for racy photos. She is has been photographed in her underwear in pictures that appeared on Twitter and stirred controversy when she appeared in pictures striking a "slant-eye" pose on the micro-blogging site.

In an issue of Vanity Fair last year, Miley posed topless for the magazine with a blanket wrapped around her chest in photos taken by Annie Leibovitz. She was 15 at the time.

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," Miley said in a statement last April.

Miley Cyrus goes country girl chic in short frock, joining Jonas Brothers in concert

Teen singer Miley Cyrus went from sophisticated starlet to country chic when she joined the Jonas Brothers on stage in Dallas on Saturday night. She joined her former beau to perform their duet, "Before The Storm" at the Jonas Brothers concert, further spurring speculation of a reignited romance.

The 16-year-old wore a short, high-necked frock - a far cry from the form-fitting, nude-colored halter she wore to the MTV Movie Awards two weeks ago.

Miley Cyrus fights scalpers with paperless tickets

NASHVILLE (Billboard) – As Miley Cyrus prepares to hit the road this fall, the spotlight is shining on what was once a relatively minor piece of the touring puzzle: the ticket.

Or in this case, the lack thereof. Cyrus' tour will use paperless tickets, and that's causing a commotion, mostly among the scalpers who infamously made so much money from her last tour.

The 2007-08 Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds trek grossed $55 million and sold about 1 million tickets to 70 shows reported to Billboard Boxscore. But it also provided outraged parents with a bitter introduction to secondary vendors, who scooped up tickets and sold them at huge markups. The resulting controversy made Cyrus the poster child for what many perceived as an out-of-control resale market.

Now Cyrus' fall tour will make history as the first arena-level trek to embrace paperless ticketing in an attempt to thwart resellers. As is the case with airlines, those who purchase the tickets must be on hand with their credit card to gain admission.

"The focus was, 'How do we take all the information we gathered last time out and do a better job of it?'" says Jason Morey, Cyrus' manager and president of Morey Management Group, an affiliate of Ticketmaster Entertainment's Front Line Management. "It was important to us to address the issue of demand. We thought that of every single option that was available out there, this was a really viable option, to go with the paperless ticketing."

Those associated with the tour say public feedback has been generally favorable and that tickets are selling well, with nearly 500,000 purchased already. The fact that they're not blowing out immediately as they did on the last tour is evidence that brokers aren't flooding the system, they say.

Meanwhile, secondary market players are crying foul, protesting that they're being shut out from buying Cyrus tickets, or at least hindered, and predicting entrance chaos, and a consumer backlash, at concerts.

Sean Pate, director of communications at the secondary market leader StubHub, says the number of tickets sold by resellers during the 2007-08 tour has been overstated. "There was a lot of misperception that brokers had gobbled all the available inventory and posted it on StubHub or anywhere else," he says. "The reality was that StubHub sold roughly 5%-6% (of seats) at any one of the venues she played in terms of the total seats in the arena."

Don Vaccaro, CEO of the secondary ticket aggregator Ticket Network, wonders aloud whether paperless ticketing might violate antitrust laws.

"Ticketmaster's actions are trying to restrain the secondary market from dealing in Miley Cyrus tickets and restraining consumers from being able to sell their rights to admission to that venue," Vaccaro says.

Morey disagrees. "Scalping is a really important issue to Miley," he says, "but really the focus is about giving the regular fan an opportunity to buy a really good ticket at face value."

Cyrus is not the first major touring act to turn to paperless ticketing. For AC/DC's North American tour last year, some 3,000-4,000 tickets per show were paperless. At a Metallica show in September at the O2 arena in London, all tickets were paperless. Both operations went smoothly, according to Ticketmaster chief technology officer Brian Pike.

"Most of the lines ran at roughly the same speed as a normal night," Pike says. "When people come with four tickets, it's actually sometimes faster than scanning four different pieces of paper. We think this technology has been well-tested and is ready for this challenge."

Chuck LaVallee, director of music relations for StubHub, begs to differ. "On AC/DC they were swiping cards and shoving fans through," he says. "If they didn't have time to check IDs on 3,000 tickets, they're not going to have time to check them on 18,000. I think the whole thing's a mess."

A PERFECT TEST CASE

In many ways a Cyrus tour is the perfect test market for paperless ticketing. Not many 11-year-old girls have credit cards, but their parents do, and many of them will surely be on hand for the shows. "Not many parents would send a 10-year-old to Staples Center (in Los Angeles) and drop them off for a concert," AEG Live president Randy Phillips says.

The Cyrus tour was sold in three stages: a Miley World fan club presale Monday, an American Express presale Wednesday and the general public on-sale Saturday. Prices range from $39.50 to $79.50, with I Love All Access (a division of Front Line) premium seats in the first 25 rows with perks like merchandise and services selling for about $295.

"Nobody cares about (the add-ons), they just want their tickets in the first 25 rows," LaVallee says.

Forty-five shows put on sale have sold slightly fewer than 500,000 tickets. "This is what on-sales used to look like before brokers got into our business," says Debra Rathwell, senior VP at AEG Live, which is promoting the tour. "Now you're dealing with the public, the public has their own time that they go about doing things, and I think we're off to a fantastic start."

The fact that tickets didn't blow out is a sign that brokers aren't flooding the system, Rathwell adds. "I can tell you last time brokers went in with their machines and it was ugly," she says. "That had to be shut down and stopped this year. The good news is the best tickets in all of these venues are in the hands of the public."

But LaVallee thinks the fact that the tour didn't sell out immediately means one of two things. "Either Miley Cyrus is not as hot as they thought she was," he says, "or the fans have spoken and they don't like paperless."

StubHub isn't carrying any Cyrus tickets for "philosophical" reasons," LaVallee says.

"Our company prides itself on being able to fulfill any ticket we sell, and we guarantee our client base that they will always get what they want," he says. "We couldn't guarantee (that to) our customers and Miley Cyrus fans who chose to buy tickets on our site. I do believe, had the paperless tickets been transferable, we would have done a healthy business on it."

RESELLERS STILL ACTIVE

Rathwell acknowledges that paperless ticketing hasn't completely shut down resellers, who can buy more than one ticket and then accompany their buyers to a venue. "I saw some of their postings," she says. "$2,600? Get a life. I don't think the big companies have postings, but you're always going to drag around the dregs."

LaVallee argues that paperless ticketing hasn't prevented brokers from buying up the same number of tickets as they normally would.

"The only thing this is going to do is shore up the local broker, take the business right back into the dark alleys, increase the amount of fraud," he says. "Joe Blow Broker in St. Louis doesn't have a 'fan protect.'"

And how would this Joe Blow Broker get his paperless tickets? "They're buying a crappy seat in the upper bowl and then some good seats below to walk people in," LaVallee says, adding that the potential for fraudulent tickets increases "exponentially" without a company like StubHub involved.

Fans who want to avoid fraud should go to Ticketmaster or the primary ticketer if it's not a Ticketmaster building, Morey says. "We've made this the most safe experience for a consumer to go to Ticketmaster, buy a face-value ticket and not deal with the chance that you go to a secondary site and either buy a fake ticket or meet somebody in a parking lot," he says.

In terms of pulling this off, it certainly can't hurt that the management company and ticketing company in question share an owner.

"There's definitely synergy," Morey says. "Ticketmaster wants to please us just like they want to please their other clients. This isn't something Ticketmaster tried to shove down my throat, this is something that I requested. They've literally moved mountains to try to make this right for this tour."

Miley Cyrus surprises Ga. fans with impromptu show

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. – Miley Cyrus took a break from shooting "The Last Song" on the Georgia coast by borrowing a guitar and treating fans to an impromptu, two-song performance on the patio of a beachside seafood restaurant.

"By the time she finished the first song, there must have been 50 little girls and their moms who came rushing up," said Ray Rogers, owner of StingRay's restaurant on Tybee Island. He caught Miley's surprise gig on video.

Rogers said the 16-year-old "Hannah Montana" star dined on snow crab legs with a friend after wrapping up Monday's first day of filming of the Walt Disney Co. movie.

Then she got up and asked a local acoustic duo playing music if she could sit in. Miley stepped up to the microphone and strapped on a guitar to sing the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill duet "It's Your Love," then added a new song of her own.

"She played those and then we got her out of here," Rogers said. "We asked her, `What do you wanna do?' and she said `I want to get out of here.' So we walked her to a side entrance nobody knew about and got her in her car."

"The Last Song" will be filming on Tybee Island and in nearby Savannah until mid-August, stirring interest among locals and tourists alike. The movie features Cyrus as a teenage girl struggling with her parents' divorce who tries to reconnect with her father during a summer at his home in a quiet beach town.

The movie's publicist, Rachel Aberly, did not immediately return a phone call and e-mail message seeking comment Wednesday.

Aussie actor and Miley Cyrus

THE snaps suggested Australian actor Liam Hemsworth had hit more than the Hollywood big time by striking up a hot relationship with teen superstar Miley Cyrus.

There they were frolicking, hugging - and at one point kissing - while fully clothed in the water at Savannah, Georgia. Indeed, it was too good to be true: they were simply on day one of their three-month filmshoot for the new Disney flick The Last Song.

Gallery: Miley Cyrus

But it appears the pair have hit it off, nevertheless.

Hemsworth, the younger brother of fellow actor Chris, has been cast as the Hannah Montana star's love interest. It's a big step up for Hemsworth, who has had small roles in Neighbours and the adult pay TV drama Satisfaction.

If Cyrus's enormous popularity translates to box-office sales, it could be huge. The movie sees Cyrus as a rebellious teen forced to spend summer with her estranged father. Hemsworth plays one of the local cool crowd.

Miley Cyrus: Who's That Boy She Was Kissing?

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Miley Cyrus was caught kissing a boy today!

Nope, not Nick Jonas or Justin Gaston. She puckered up to Liam Hemsworth. But it's no real-life romance…

It was all business. The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star was spied locking lips with the Australian actor while filming a scene for their new movie The Last Song, a drama from The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks about a rebellious teen girl who is sent to live with her estranged father.

Yeah, Hemsworth plays Ms. Miley's love interest. The two kissed while Hemsworth lifted a wet Cyrus out of the water and into his arms. Shooting began today in Savannah, Georgia.

"I got a hot boy," Cyrus said of Hemsworth when I talked to her last month.

She added, "Not bad to look at for the summer."

When asked at the time if they had any kissing scenes, she smiled, "I don't know. Maybe."

Tickets For Miley Cyrus Show To Be Paperless

LITTLE ROCK — Tween idol Miley Cyrus is scheduled to perform at Alltel Arena on Oct. 24, and organizers have taken steps to keep scalpers from scooping up tickets as happened the last time Cyrus was in North Little Rock.

All tickets for Cyrus’ show will be paperless, which means people can pay for admission in advance but they have to show at the door a government-issued identification and swipe the credit card used to pay for the tickets. The patron will be issued paper slips with their seat number.

Cyrus, the teen star of the Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” show, played in North Little Rock on Dec. 1. Attorney General Dustin McDaniel opened an investigation after widespread complaints scalpers bought most of the tickets within minutes.

Gabe Holmstrom, a spokesman for McDaniel’s office, said McDaniel’s office would monitor the ticket sales for this year’s show and was hopeful the paperless system would deter ticket scalpers.

“We’re told that the folks over there feel that this is going to be effective, but who knows what other technological tricks are out there,” Holmstrom said.McDaniel is also working with a group of attorneys general from other states on a list of best practices and disclosures for ticket sellers and concert venues, Holmstrom said.

Miley Cyrus: Nick Jonas and I Have "Reconnected"

Miley Cyrus -- who split from beau Justin Gaston earlier this week -- says it's nice to be back on friendly terms with ex Nick Jonas.

"He's my best friend, and we still hang out all the time," she said Friday on 107.5 The River's Woody and Jim morning show in Nashville. "We've definitely reconnected. We don't know what's going to happen in the future, but right now we're just kind of kicking it and hanging out as much as we can."

See photos of stars who make up and break up

Cyrus split with Jonas at the end of 2007. She told Seventeen last year that she "bawled for a month straight" and dyed her hair black after calling it quits.

The two -- who sing a duet on the Jonas Brothers' new song, "Before The Storm -- have since patched things up.

"We both just kind of saw each other and kind of decided this whole thing is kind of stupid," Cyrus said. "We were all over the separation."

"I'm really happy to be back in their lives," she went on. "And our families are super happy we're hanging out again."

Jonas even took a trip to Georgia to visit Cyrus, who is now shooting the drama The Last Song. On Wednesday, they went jet-skiing near Tybee Island.

"No comment," she said when asked about the outing, though she did admit, "I am a jet ski demon!"

See what the Jonas Bros looked like as babies

As for her new nose piercing, she said she is not ready to get "slammed" for the body art.

"I'll let people think what they will," she said. "I hope no one is upset at me for doing it. I think it's lame for it to be such a big deal because ... it's just temporary. You can take it out."

Miley Cyrus to tour UK, not as "Hannah Montana"

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus has announced dates for her first UK tour which will start in December, as she continues to build a pop music career in her own right rather than as her alter-ego Hannah Montana.
Cyrus, 16, who plays a schoolgirl with a secret identity as rock star Hannah Montana in the hit Disney series and movie, will perform two nights at London's O2 Arena on December 13 and 14.

She will then travel to Dublin, Birmingham and Manchester for a further six dates. Cyrus, the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, will be supported by Metro Station, the band of her older brother Chase.

The tour comes on the back of the release of "Breakout," her first album as herself and without featuring Hannah Montana.

Last week Cyrus announced 45 dates for a North American tour which starts in September.

Cyrus has become one of the biggest teen idols in the world since landing a role in 2006 in the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" sitcom.

The series has also led to a lucrative line in merchandise and Cyrus last week announced she was teaming up with designer Max Azria to create a budget-friendly clothing line that will be sold in the major U.S. retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Her movie, "Hannah Montana: The Movie" was released in May to strong box office sales and the teenager confirmed earlier this month that she had signed up for a fourth series of the TV show.

Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston Are Totally Dunzo

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Gone are the times of romantic, helmet-free bike rides and sweet sushi lunches. Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston are so over.

The 16-year-old starlet has ended her nine-month romance with the 20-year-old underwear model, sources close to the duo exclusively confirm to E! News.

The Hannah Montana star called things off last week as she prepared to leave Los Angeles for two months to shoot her Nicholas Sparks movie, The Last Song, in Savannah, Ga.

Speculation of trouble peaked yesterday when the two simultaneously twittered about tears and goodbyes.

A source close to the couple says both of them are really heartbroken over the split.

However, word is distance may not have been the only thing to come between the two. A certain famous ex-BF may have exacerbated the rift...

Gaston, a Louisiana native, has told pals that the star's resurrected friendship with Nick Jonas this spring was his Achilles' heel.

"She obviously has been hanging out with Nick again a lot, and Justin was cool with it at first, as long as it was just a cool, friendly thing," says an insider. "She didn't cheat, but I guess Nick was trying to get her back the whole time."

In fact, photos of the former pop power couple goofing around during a video shoot surfaced just yesterday. And Saturday, Cyrus left a mildly mysterious message on her Twitter account.

"I'm in a dark theater 'writing' a song with nick j who is rockin a faded eggplant shirt! :)"

"Writing" is a euphemism for what, exactly, Miles?

Not only will Cyrus have a new man soon, she also has a new agent.

E! News has learned that the starlet dropped her agents at United Talent Agency and is now represented by CAA. Cyrus's music career has long been handled by CAA, but UTA represented her TV and film acting projects.

A rep for Cyrus had no comment.

Miley Cyrus movie starts filming in Ga. next week

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. – Tybee Island has landed a starring role in the new Miley Cyrus movie, and audiences seeing the film next year won't have to wait for the credits to find out the name of the beach town filling the screen.

Location managers for the movie "The Last Song," which starts filming on Tybee next week, told residents at a town meeting Monday that the island proved too unique to masquerade as Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

Novelist Nicholas Sparks, who wrote the movie's script, initially set the story in Wrightsville and Wilmington, N.C. But filmmakers persuaded him to change the location to Tybee Island and neighboring Savannah so they could include local landmarks such as the island's towering lighthouse and the oak-shaded squares in Savannah's historic district.

"We had a hard time trying to hide the fact that this was Tybee and Savannah was Savannah," Bass Hampton, the film's location director, told about 80 residents at Tybee city hall.

The movie features 16-year-old Cyrus, the star of "Hannah Montana," as a teenage girl struggling with her parents' divorce who tries to reconnect with her father during a summer at his home in a quiet beach town.

Filming starts Monday on Tybee Island, 12 miles east of Savannah, and is expected to stretch into mid-August.

The Walt Disney Co. had considered making the film in North Carolina, but ultimately chose Georgia because the state offered a better incentive package. Local officials estimate the production will bring $8 million in direct spending to the area during the next two months.

Having Tybee Island's name on the screen — on signs for a beach festival and emblazoned on police cars and fire trucks — should make for an even bigger payday after the movie hits theaters in 2010, said Diane Schleicher, Tybee's city manager.

"When the film releases, the impact on the economy here is going to be immense," Schleicher said.

Still, there will be some drawbacks for the island's 3,400 residents.

Hampton said filmmakers will spend several days shooting at the island's fishing pier, which will mean closing the attraction to visitors periodically, and roadblocks will go up around the beach house being used as a location.

Tybee resident Monty Parks, who opened an Internet cafe near the pier a few months ago, said he hopes to sell plenty of lattes to the film crew and gawking tourists.

"If you're somebody who wants Tybee to stay out of the limelight, you're going to be broken-hearted," Parks said. "I think there's going to be a lot of people here. It's going to be great for me."

Miley Cyrus - The Climb

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing,
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause
