Tickets For Miley Cyrus Show To Be Paperless
LITTLE ROCK — Tween idol Miley Cyrus is scheduled to perform at Alltel Arena on Oct. 24, and organizers have taken steps to keep scalpers from scooping up tickets as happened the last time Cyrus was in North Little Rock.
All tickets for Cyrus’ show will be paperless, which means people can pay for admission in advance but they have to show at the door a government-issued identification and swipe the credit card used to pay for the tickets. The patron will be issued paper slips with their seat number.
Cyrus, the teen star of the Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” show, played in North Little Rock on Dec. 1. Attorney General Dustin McDaniel opened an investigation after widespread complaints scalpers bought most of the tickets within minutes.
Gabe Holmstrom, a spokesman for McDaniel’s office, said McDaniel’s office would monitor the ticket sales for this year’s show and was hopeful the paperless system would deter ticket scalpers.
“We’re told that the folks over there feel that this is going to be effective, but who knows what other technological tricks are out there,” Holmstrom said.McDaniel is also working with a group of attorneys general from other states on a list of best practices and disclosures for ticket sellers and concert venues, Holmstrom said.
