Jonas Brothers Sing About Exes On 'Lines, Vines and Trying Times'

Less than a year ago, the Jonas Brothers released their album A Little Bit Longer, at a time when some critics claimed the band's popularity was waning. But the guys have proven them wrong, drawing crowds of screaming girls at every appearance, selling out their summer tour in a hot minute and getting people buzzing about their new album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times.

"I think in that period, we went through a lot, both in our personal lives and musically," Nick told MTV News of the stretch between albums. "And also we had a lot of music in our hearts we just wanted to share. We're really happy with this album."

This time around, Nick, Joe and Kevin relied heavily on their personal lives when it came time to write the tracks. These songs include Nick's duet with Miley Cyrus, "Before the Storm," and Joe's apparent breakup ode to Taylor Swift, "Much Better".

And the guys say they're comfortable with fans dissecting their love lives while listening to the songs. "Absolutely!" Joe said. "I think that will happen until we're 60 years old."

Kevin agreed, saying, "For us, it's about personal experiences."

"I think even the songs that talk about previous relationships really are pointed towards the fans in the end," Nick added. "They're the best and they're the reason we're doing what we're doing."
