Jonas Brothers Talk Collaboration With Common On New Album

At this point it's not really news that the Jonas Brothers have Miley Cyrus on their new album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times,

which dropped Tuesday (June 16), and we here at MTV News are not surprised in any way to hear that the boys turned to a hip-hop star for another song on their new album.

Back in March, the guys shared with MTV News their dream of embracing hip-hop and "getting someone like a Common or a Lupe Fiasco or a Mos Def" to collaborate with them. And — just like that! — they got Common to guest-star on the song "Don't Charge Me With the Crime."

"We have Common on one song called 'Don't Charge Me With the Crime,' which is one of my favorite songs. It's a story song," Kevin Jonas told MTV News recently, describing the track's bank-robbery premise, which, he assured fans, is purely fictional. "It didn't really happen to us. But it's definitely fun to have him on the track."

Not only did the Jonas Brothers seek inspiration from the streets for the album, they also hooked up with young blues guitarist Jonny Lang for their song, "Hey Baby." "We're huge fans of his music," Kevin said. "He's playing guitar on it. For us, we've never done collaborations with anyone, other than [our bodyguard] Big Rob, we've never done collaborations with real artists on our record, so this time around, we have some pretty awesome people."
